The Opportunity
A leading international law firm is seeking a high-caliber Associate with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience to join its top-tier Energy and Infrastructure practice in Singapore.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a highly regarded Partner recognized as a specialist in offshore wind and large-scale infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising global developers, sponsors, and contractors on the full lifecycle of high-value projects across the Asia-Pacific region, including Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Project Development: Drafting and negotiating a wide range of project documents, including EPC, EPCI, Turbine Supply Agreements (TSAs), and O&M contracts.
Construction Advisory: Providing "live" project advisory services to clients during the construction phase, including contract administration, risk management, and the handling of variations and claims.
Sector Specialization: Supporting the development of major renewable energy projects (specifically offshore wind, solar, and waste-to-energy) and transport infrastructure (airports, rail, and seaports).
Regional Project Delivery: Managing cross-border mandates and coordinating with local counsel across APAC to ensure project delivery aligns with international standards and local regulatory frameworks.
Market Leadership: Assisting in the preparation of thought leadership and client seminars regarding renewable energy auctions and infrastructure regulatory developments in the region.
The Candidate
Qualified Lawyer: 3–5 years of PQE in a top-tier international or leading domestic construction/projects practice. Singapore, England & Wales, or Australian qualifications are highly regarded.
Construction Specialist: Strong technical knowledge of standard industry contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, LOGIC).
Commercial Acumen: Ability to bridge the gap between complex legal drafting and technical project requirements, an "engineer-friendly" approach to law is highly valued.
Regional Experience: Previous exposure to projects in North Asia (Taiwan/Korea/Japan) or Southeast Asia is a distinct advantage.
Proactive Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable taking a "hands-on" role in project delivery.
