The Opportunity

A premier US law firm is seeking an exceptional Project Finance Associate with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience to join its elite Energy & Infrastructure practice in Singapore.

This is a standout opportunity to advise international commercial lenders, export credit agencies (ECAs), development finance institutions (DFIs), and global project sponsors on market-leading cross-border project financings across the Asia-Pacific region. You will work directly alongside top-ranked partners on high-value debt structures financing major renewable energy, power transition, natural resources, and infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financing Documentation: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a full spectrum of project finance documentation, including loan agreements, security packages, intercreditor agreements, and direct agreements.

  • Risk & Due Diligence: Conducting and managing legal due diligence on project documents (off-take agreements, EPC contracts, concessions) to assess and mitigate bankability risks.

  • Cross-Border Execution: Managing multi-jurisdictional transactions across APAC, coordinating with local counsel, ECAs, and banking syndicates to drive deals to financial close.

  • Sector Focus: Supporting complex debt transactions across key growth sectors, including offshore wind, solar, hydrogen, LNG, data centers, and major transport infrastructure.

  • Closing Mechanics: Taking ownership of condition precedent (CP) satisfaction, drawdowns, and post-closing administration for major project debt facilities.

The Candidate

  • Qualified Lawyer: 3–5 years of PQE with professional qualification in England & Wales or the US.

  • Elite Background: Top-tier academic credentials paired with rigorous project finance or structured cross-border banking training from a leading US, Magic Circle, or top international practice.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of international credit documentation (e.g., APLMA/LMA standard forms), multi-sourced debt structures, and project risk allocation.

  • Regional Exposure: Exposure to cross-border project financings in Southeast Asia or North Asia is highly regarded.

  • Drive & Independence: Strong commercial acumen and organization, capable of running key transaction workstreams and liaising directly with lenders and sponsors.
